WARRACKNABEAL Secondary College is off to Dimboola on Sunday August 5 to take part in the Human Powered Vehicle event.

This event is Hindmarsh Shire Council sponsored event that will see teams from several secondary and primary schools taking part.

This is not an official race event but rather an opportunity for teams like Warracknabeal to test bikes and riders in similar conditions for a race.

“Warracknabeal Secondary students have only recently begun to train with the bikes as I think we are all put off by the cold weather of the last few weeks," said teacher, Peter Loy.

They intend to take a team of about 20 students, a mix of boys and girls, to practice against other teams on the track.

This will be a new experience for most of the students as most have never raced against other bikes sharing the track.

They will be taking 2 Human Powered Vehicles (HPVs) and possibly an Electric Assisted Vehicle (EEV) as well.

The Dimboola Event will be a practice for the serious Energy Breakthrough event held later in the year at Maryborough.
