What a co-incidence I clicked on the Warracknabeal Herald website today to see Martin Monk and Vaughan Kimber retiring. I met Martin Monk back in 1976/7 when I was also living in Gove after being blown out of Darwin, he looked after my teeth on a couple of occassions. I'm wondering was it me waxing lyrical about the wheat fields of Warracknabeal or just co-incidence that an ex patient of Tim McCarthy's inspired a young dentist and his wife to move to Warracknabeal, buy Tim McCarthy's practice and spend the rest of their professional life there. It's interesting how lives cross paths and interact in small but significant ways.

Dear Tim and the Warracknabeal Steering Committee

It's so nice to put a face to a name. It is excellent to see this article on the front page! Thank you for all of your help and hard work - this is a wonderful collaboration!

If you're a parent from around Warracknabeal, Horsham or surrounding areas, please register for this free training opportunity. The telephone interview that you and your teenager will undertake before you attend your training course is brief and will help us map whether the training courses are helpful - we track this in another telephone interview one year later.

We hope the courses increase knowledge of mental or physical health problems, reduce stigma around mental health problems and increase supportive behaviours around mental or physical health problems.

Families across the State face the same issue.

Political point scoring has come before common sense.

Please get in touch with your local State and Federal ministers to urge them to get this stand off resolved.

Despite Liberal Party mischief, the Federal Government has ruled out restoring occasional care funding despite helping pass a motion noting its $12 million cuts had cost jobs and left families struggling to find other help."There is no change to government policy," a spokesperson for Childcare Minister Kate Ellis said.

"We are still waiting for the Victorian Government to reinstate its funding as all the other states have."
