A bit of mystery for gathering quilters

It was a fun, albeit a little mysterious, start to the year by the Patchwork Group – Hopetoun as they got busy creating their first quilt.

Laughter, concentration and plenty of unpicking filled the room as Hopetoun’s patchwork group stitched together their first quilt of 2026.
Laughter, concentration and plenty of unpicking filled the room as Hopetoun’s patchwork group stitched together their first quilt of 2026.

A group of members got together recently for a day full of sewing, with frequent laughter, and the unpick getting lots of use.

The theme was a mystery quilt and members wondered what the creation could possibly be.

There was much concentration with everyone attempting to keep their fabrics in order and it wasn't until in the afternoon that the final results were revealed, with all creations looking a bit different because of the colours used.

The first meeting for the year was held after lunch with new president Karen Fuller and new secretary Carolyn Carr at the helm.

There was discussion about organization for the year and the approaching exhibition on the weekend of April 18 and 19.

The group would like to remind everyone that new members are always welcome, with meetings held every Saturday at the old limestone school in Austin Street.
