With a bye in round 18, Horsham Saints have completed their 2025 season after being defeated by Ararat on Saturday, 4.3 (27) to 17.18 (120).
As you would expect from the minor premiers, they were on from the get-go, up by 30 points at the end of the first quarter, 17 points at half-time and 58 heading into the final quarter.
With a record of six and 10, the Saints haven't been disgraced this season, but on Saturday the difference between the ladder leaders and the Saints, seventh, was more than 90 points at the final siren.
Judd Wright and Sam Clyne were the better players for the Saints, with Jaxon Crooks also acknowledged for his three majors.
For Ararat, Ben Taylor and Sonny Kettle led the way, with Kettle the leading goal scorer, with four.
While the season is over for the Horsham side, Ararat will line up against Nhill this week in a one-versus-two battle, before finals begin the following week.
