Led by Faith Biddle (37 goals) and Laney McLoughlan (24), Ararat kept the score ticking, despite the first goal of the hit-out being scored by the Eagles' Nicola Clyne.

Clyne, who began the game in goals before spending a lot of time on the bench during the middle part of the game and then returning to the court in Centre in the fourth quarter, scored four goals.

Briodi McKenzie finished with 10 and Isabella Orszulak 25 for Warrack.

Better players for the losing side were Lucy Holland and Orszulak, while Jessica Taylor and Monique Scott were acknowledged for their efforts with the Rats.

Coach of the Eagles, Sarah Spicer, said Clyne came off during quarter to inject a bit of height into the circle via Orszulak.

But all in all, Spicer said the opposition were able to get an early lead and maintain the momentum over the course of the game.

"We had good patches of play, but overall they were better on the day," admitted Spicer.

"Their goalies shot accurately, and we struggled against their defenders."

Moving Maddie Okely into Goal Defence helped the side gain back possession in part, with the coach acknowledging Okely had a strong final half.

"Lucy Holland had a strong game at WD then WA," said Spicer.

"She made good decisions when she had the ball and kept to the game plan.

"Bella at GS did help with the extra height.

"She shot very well and majority of our goals.

"Briodi fed the ball well to her also."

The Eagles will this week enjoy a break, as they have their last bye for the season.
