The Bombers have been the standout team of the competition with 10 wins and just one loss, and will be preparing themselves in the final five weeks as finals loom.

Conversely, Natimuk are eighth with four wins and eight losses and are unlikely to make the top five.

Although consistency has been an issue, the Rams have shown they are an improved team and are capable of pushing top sides, as demonstrated in their competitive loss to Swifts in round 13.

Damian Cameron, coach of Noradjuha Quantong, is confident ahead of the matchup and is not looking too much into their previous clash with Natimuk: a 124-74 win in round three.

“We played them (Natimuk) earlier in the year where we were still trying to click as a team and with a few new guys ourselves, so it’s a bit hard to gauge from that long ago,” Cameron said.

“We’re playing some good footy and we’ll concentrate more on ourselves.”

The Bombers used the break to recuperate and, coming off the bye, are close to full strength after having accumulated some injuries in recent weeks.

Reflecting on the season to date, Cameron said he was pleased with how the team had performed but was aware of numerous teams on the rise.

“I’m very happy to be where we’re sitting at the moment,” Cameron said.

“We have fluctuated a bit with our own form through the season and we’re well aware that Kaniva’s probably just hitting their straps and Harrow’s got a lot of good players back at the moment.

“We definitely don’t feel safe but we’re happy to be where we are with five games left.”

Asked about their one-point loss to Kaniva Leeor back in round 11, Cameron said the Cougars were a talented side to watch out for.

“I was really impressed with the way they played,” Cameron said.

“How much they impressed me makes me a little worried about them, and their top end is absolute A grade.”
