Busy weekend for emergency services

Emergency services were called into action several times across the Mallee last weekend.

Three CFA units, police and paramedics were called to a car rollover on Lah Road on Saturday, July 19, at about 3.20pm.

On Sunday, July 20, emergency services were called out to Lah Road again, this time to extinguish a car fire at about 6:20 a.m.

Earlier in the week, a learner motorcycle rider has escaped serious injury after coming off their bike on the Western Highway between Wail and Pimpinio.

A Victoria Police spokesperson said the rider was travelling east when they allegedly struck a pothole and slid into the oncoming traffic lanes.

Fortunately, no other vehicles were present at the time of the incident.

Finally, a woman in her 20s was transported to Swan Hill Hospital in a serious condition after an incident in Lascelles at around 2.40pm on July 17.
