BALMORAL

Seymour Park, corner Glendinning and Stirling streets, Balmoral, from 10.30am: flag-raising, guest speaker and community breakfast.

DERGHOLM

Dergholm and District Soldiers’ Memorial Hall from 11am: free BBQ lunch, music by Nathan ‘Skunk’ Gill and address by former VFL player John Mossops, who grew up on a family farm near Penola and played 134 games for Geelong and 37 for North Melbourne.

DIMBOOLA

Dimboola Library Gardens from 10.30am: morning tea followed by meet-and-greet from 11am and ceremony at 11.10am with flag-raising and addresses by guest speaker and Hindmarsh Shire mayor Cr Ron Ismay, hosted by Dimboola CWA.

EDENHOPE

Edenhope Bowling Club from 11am: free BBQ lunch, kite-flying at Lake Wallace with Edenhope Kite Flying Group followed by barefoot bowls hosted by Edenhope Lions Club and Bowling Club, live music by Rob Tuncks and Sing Australia, and address by Australia Day ambassador Emma Kealy, Member for Lowan.

GOROKE

Goroke Memorial Hall from 8am: BBQ breakfast, entertainment by Poppy Moyle Rei and shared morning tea.

HARROW

Johnny Mullagh Reserve from 11am: shared BBQ lunch, entertainment by Jessie Ferguson and address by Australia Day Ambassador Alan Perry, retiring Harrow police officer after 52 years of service.

HOPETOUN

Hopetoun CWA Australia Day Event, Hopetoun Memorial Hall, 13 Austin Street, Hopetoun, 8am–10am.

HORSHAM

New location: Horsham Town Hall, Horsham 7am–10am: free community BBQ followed by official proceedings including acknowledgement of Country, citizenship ceremony and presentation of Australia Day awards.

JEPARIT

Menzies Square from 9am: breakfast BBQ followed by meet-and-greet from 9.30am and ceremony at 9.50am with flag-raising and addresses by guest speaker and Hindmarsh Shire mayor Cr Ron Ismay, hosted by Jeparit Town Committee.

KANIVA

Kaniva Swimming Pool from 8am: BBQ breakfast for gold-coin donation, live music by Sarah Hinge and address by Australia Day Ambassador Bill Hoskins, former Victorian policeman who spent five years in Kaniva.

MARNOO

Marnoo Hall, 2 Newall Street, Marnoo, from noon: community lunch by Marnoo CWA, flag-raising followed by official Australia Day ceremony with guest speaker; register for catering purposes by calling Marg Shaughnessy on 0438 080 142 or Lois Johnson on 0400 715 080.

MINYIP

Minyip Australia Day Breakfast, Minyip Town Square, 49 Main Street, Minyip, 8am–11am.

NAVARRE

Community Park, High Street, Navarre 8am–10am: free community breakfast, 10am flag-raising followed by official Australia Day ceremony with guest speaker.

NHILL

Goldsworthy Park from noon: BBQ lunch followed by meet-and-greet from 12.30pm and ceremony at 12.50pm with flag-raising and addresses by guest speaker and Hindmarsh Shire mayor Cr Ron Ismay, hosted by Lions Club of Nhill.

RAINBOW

Rainbow Oasis from 7.30am: breakfast BBQ followed by meet-and-greet from 8am and ceremony at 8.20am with flag-raising and addresses by guest speaker and Hindmarsh Shire mayor Cr Ron Ismay, hosted by Lions Club of Rainbow.

RUPANYUP

Rupanyup Australia Day Breakfast, Jack Emmett Billabong, 89 Wimmera Highway, Rupanyup, 8am–11am.

ST ARNAUD

Market Square, St Arnaud, from 8am: free community breakfast by St Arnaud Rotary Club and Lions Club, 9am community address by St Arnaud Australia Day Ambassador, Australian citizenship ceremony, official Australia Day awards presentation and flag-raising, followed by Devonshire morning tea at St Arnaud Town Hall by Friends of the Queen Mary Gardens. Wet weather option: St Arnaud Town Hall.

STAWELL

Central Park, Stawell, from 5pm: free community BBQ by Stawell Woolworths and Stawell Lions Club, 6pm community address by local Australia Day Ambassador followed by Australian citizenship ceremony and official Australia Day awards presentation. Wet weather option Stawell Town Hall.

STUART MILL

Stuart Mill Hall, Stuart Mill, from 7pm: official proceedings with guest speaker followed by light supper by CWA.
