THE RUN HOME: Consistent local results
Local trainers continued to chalk up a consistent run of winners during the past week, with Special Players and George’s Best (Andrea Gurry, Nhill), Head For Home (Peter Carter, Horsham), and Weblec Marquise (Heather Baxter, Murtoa) flying the local flag.

It was Gurry who struck first when Special Players jumped well from the wide draw, but was forced to work hard to cross the field.
On doing so he set-up a race winning lead in the space of 30 meters, dashing clear and cruising to an easy four length victory in 22:60 sec for the 390m journey.
It was then George’s Best who brought his best on Tuesday in Horsham, bouncing on the early lead and opening a nice margin on cornering, turning for home with an unassailable lead, going away an ever increasing five length victor.
Head For Home was a successful across 410m journey for breeders Michael, Peter, and Timothy Carter.
Beginning midfield, he mustered up well heading into the first turn, on straightening for home he assumed control to win by close to six lengths in 23:48 sec.
Weblec Marquise then stepped out across a 485m journey for Heather Baxter and Molly Parfett-Oliver.
Weblec Marquise pounced straight on the early lead leaving no chance in an impressive front running display, going home by half a length and stopping the clock at 27:76 sec.
