Council to host tourism and business forum
The Hindmarsh Shire Council will be hosting a Tourism and Business Forum at the Antwerp Hall on Sunday, September 14.
Attendees will hear from guest speakers from Grampians Wimmera Mallee Tourism and the council's economic development and tourism team.
A council spokesperson said GWM Tourism would provide an overview of the marketing and promotional activities undertaken in the first year of the new visitor economy partnership, future planned promotions, and how businesses can tap into broader marketing support.
Initial feedback from the current 'YOU' visiting friends and relatives campaign would also be discussed.
The council's economic development and tourism team will give attendees updates on local activities and council involvement in the Business-Friendly Councils program, what support the council can offer existing and prospective businesses, as well as how the region can attract new 'tree change' operators to the shire.
The forum starts at 12pm with a light lunch provided, followed by presentations starting at 12.30pm.
The Wimmera River Discovery Trail opening will follow the Tourism and Business Forum, commencing at 2.30pm.
