Culture contrasts
In 2024, the Fellowship Group from the Southern Mallee Cooperative Parish invited Miraben Sanjay Bharania, known to the community as Mira, to share some of the stories from her life.

Those gathered were fascinated to hear of her journey growing up in India and moving to Africa with new husband Sanjay, where together they sought adventure and new opportunities.
Moving to Melbourne for their children’s education and then to Rainbow, Mira painted her life in colour.
Members of the community are invited to come and hear more of her story, particularly of her culture and expressions of that in events such as weddings, celebrations and other festivals, contrasting experiences from life in India to that of Australia.
Mira engaged all with her warm and friendly nature and colourful story telling and many in the community are looking forward to hearing her again.
Parish church hall at 24 King Street, Rainbow.

Anyone interested is invited to attend and share afternoon tea following Mira’s presentation.
