The Laharum Football Netball Club scored a solid win this month; however, it didn't happen on a Saturday afternoon.

The club was allocated $2500 through the Active Kids Grant program, supported by the Australian Sports Foundation and The Dickinson Foundation.

The funds helped the Demons purchase much-needed new gear for its junior programs, including new balls, training aides and safety equipment.

"It's a big boost for the club," club secretary Rowena Doyle said.

"It's been great seeing the smiles on the kids' faces when they saw the equipment for the first time.

"We're turning over equipment every year, so it's fantastic for the Australian Sports Foundation to be generous with their funding."

Doyle highlighted the adjustable netball rings and court squeegee as less obvious but vital additions to the club.

"Being able to adjust the height of the netball ring means our youngest players can develop their skills," she said.

"The squeegee can dry the court quickly, which means on wet days, we can resume play quicker and easier."
