Dental Health Week focus for Storytime
Hindmarsh Shire Libraries will hold a themed Storytime to promote Dental Health Week at the Dimboola branch on August 8 from 10am.
The Australian Dental Association’s annual campaign is held from August 4 to 10 with this year's theme shining a light on the importance of children’s oral health milestones – or “Smilestones" – on the journey from birth to baby teeth and beyond.
Dental Health Week is a great time for families to talk about good oral health habits, like brushing teeth twice a day – in the morning after breakfast and in the evening before bed – and having regular dental check-ups.
Hindmarsh Shire Libraries has received a ‘Healthy Little Smiles at Library Storytime’ resource kit, generously provided by Oral Health Victoria, which includes toothbrushing packs and toothbrushing charts for families to take home from Storytime.
Families with children aged zero to five years are invited to attend this session of Storytime and learn all about “smilestones”.
