Legacy's badge day is coming up across the Wimmera
Badge Week is Legacy's major fundraiser and will be held again this year from Sunday, August 31, to Saturday, September 6, at various locations throughout the Wimmera.

Money is raised through the sale of badges, pens, key chains and teddy bears dressed in Army, Navy and Air Force service uniforms.
Valuable funds raised will aid the Wimmera Branch of Melbourne Legacy to continue supporting about 60 widows, mainly from World War II veterans, in the Wimmera region.
The funds provide support to widows by recognising their birthdays, giving them Christmas presents and assisting in special areas such as helping with heating costs in winter.
In addition to Wimmera Legatees, volunteers from Horsham Lions, the Army reserve and individual volunteers will assist in this fundraising activity.
Donations can be made directly to Badge Week volunteers.
The Wimmera Branch of Melbourne Legacy conducts fundraising in the region each year, but all money raised in the Wimmera will be used directly to assist Wimmera Legatees.
The Wimmera Branch was originally called Wimmera Legacy.
Legatees will operate collection points outside Horsham at Birchip, Dimboola, Donald, Hopetoun, Nhill, Rainbow and Warracknabeal during Badge Week.
A collection box will be set up at Edenhope Post Office for donations.
In Horsham, volunteers will operate at Horsham Plaza from Monday to Saturday; at Horsham PO on the Friday and at Bunnings at selected times on Thursday between 6-8 pm, Friday between 1.30-3.30pm and Saturday between 9.30am and 2pm.
Legatees have arranged for a card reader to be available at the collection points in Horsham to make donating easier for people who do not carry cash.
