Eighteen members of the Rainbow Lions Club and friends held a four hour working bee on Saturday morning and completely cleared out the paper collection shed on Railway Street.
Thirty-one tonnes of paper has been collected since the last clean-out almost two years ago.
The team worked hard, greatly assisted by the use of two telehandlers and a fork lift, to load Bo Smith’s B-double truck.
The paper will be transported to Melbourne for recycling.
The Rainbow Lions Club is still available to collect bundles of paper products for recycling on the first Saturday of every month - just leave bundles on the nature strip for morning collection.
Newspapers, magazines and unwanted books can also be left at the depot on Railway Street any time.
