The Rainbow Learning Group and Neighbourhood House host an art group every first and third Wednesday of the month from 4-6pm.

The sessions welcome all ages and skill levels, offering a space for locals to create and connect for just $5 per session.

Four locals attended the session and explored abstract painting by applying paint freely to canvas paper on March 5.

Tracey Smith, a local from Pullut who runs the group, led the activity.

“I loved doing art at school,” Ms Smith said.

“I’m not a professional artist or teacher, but I’ve enjoyed drawing since childhood.

“I want more locals to join, create art, and have a chat.”

Participants can bring ideas or requests for techniques they want to learn.

“We lend art materials to those who need them,” she said.

“If you don’t want to paint, you can still come, sit, and watch.

“Don’t be shy about your art pieces.”

Ms Smith encourages anyone interested to attend the next session on Wednesday, March 19.
