Students from the Diploma of Applied Agronomy (AHC51920) held their annual Agronomy Field Day at Longerenong College.

The event featured presentations from our 2025 Agronomy cohort, highlighting the results of their year-long trial projects.

Topics included hybrid canola flowering synchronisation, pasture seed options, knockdown herbicides, growth enhancers, seed dressings, and the impact of Transit Releaf on wheat growth.

Following a BBQ lunch, students received in-field updates from our on-site partners: BASF, BAYER, and Agriculture Victoria.

These partnerships provide students with valuable exposure to cutting-edge developments in grains, herbicides, and pasture technologies throughout the year.

We sincerely thank BASF, BAYER, Pacific Seeds, AGF and Stephens Pasture Seeds for their ongoing support of our Agronomy program.

Blue Tree Project Raises Mental Health Awareness

In a powerful gesture of support for mental health awareness, the 2025 Longerenong Student Association (LSA) painted a tree at the college entrance blue as part of the Blue Tree Project.

Originally a symbol of joy and creativity, blue trees have become a national emblem of hope, connection, and mental health advocacy.

Each tree serves as a visual reminder to check in with ourselves and others, encouraging open conversations and support for those who may be struggling.
