An interested crowd usually attends the meeting, which involves members of the group from as far away as Zumsteins and Laharum.

The speaker for this year’s meeting will be Jenn Stephens from Hopetoun who will speak on ‘Backyard Mallee birds and migratory visitors’.

Ms Stephens has a long love of birds, which inspired her move to Hopetoun some years ago.

She regularly conducts tours to Wyperfeld National Park and loves the native vegetation in the area which supports a surprising number of birds at various times of the year.

The meeting will include a specimen table of local native plants in flower and a raffle.

There will be plants for sale and supper will be available at the conclusion of the meeting.

The meeting will be held on Thursday, May 1, at 7.30 pm in the Town Hall Supper Room.
