Small jump in new Wimmera COVID-19 cases

Active COVID-19 cases across the Wimmera continue to hover under 400 after nearly 80 were reported on Friday afternoon.

ACROSS the Wimmera 78 new COVID-19 cases have been recorded leading into the weekend.

In the Horsham municipality there were 58 new cases reported, taking the total active cases to 202 on February 18.

In the Northern Grampians 11 new cases were recorded, leaving the total active cases at 89.

Three new cases were recorded in Hindmarsh for a total of 25 active cases, with Yarriambiack recording 65 total active cases after six new cases were recorded.

In the West Wimmera there were no new cases recorded, with the total active cases at 13.

Across Victoria 2606 new cases were recorded through PCR tests and 4329 Rapid Antigen Test positives were recorded in the 24 hours prior to 12pm, February 18.

There are currently 451 people hospitalised for COVID-19 in Victoria, and in the last 24 hours 14 lives were lost.

Overall there are 50,042 active cases in the state.

The Wimmera Health Care Group drive through testing service on Read Street, Horsham with the entry on Arnott Street is open 8am to 11am daily.

The Horsham Respiratory Clinic is open for COVID-19 testing on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9am to 5pm, Tuesday from 9am to 5pm, Friday from 9.20am to 5pm, Saturday from 10am to 1pm and Sunday from 9am to 12.20pm.
