Nhill look to maintain buffer over third
A game ahead of the field in second, Nhill will have the opportunity to keep that lead this Saturday, when they come up against Minyip Murtoa, sixth, in the pending round of Wimmera Football Netball League.
The Tigers are a win behind ladder leaders Ararat, but four points in front of both Horsham Saints and Stawell.
They've dropped only the one match this season so far, to Dimboola, on May 10, by 74 points.
The Burras, in contrast, have a record of 3-3, after a brilliant start to the season, winning against Dimboola (41 points), Stawell (20) and Warrack (15) before dropping their latest matches against the Thunder (43 points), Ararat (20) and Horsham Saints (13).
Drew Schneider has been impressive for Nhill in the forward line this season, booting 20 goals and sitting in the top five leading goal scorers for the league, while Daniel Batson and Jake McQueen have also been known to add to the score most weeks.
For Minyip Murtoa, most of their majors have come from Timothy Mcintyre (12 goals this season), along with Oscar Gawith, who has booted 10 goals in his four matches.
Daniel Batson, Darcy Honeyman, Darcy Reid and Liam Albrecht have also led the way for Nhill this season, while Ben McIntyre, Dusty Cross, Timothy Mackenzie and Timothy Mcintyre will be looking to continue having an impact on the game on Saturday for Minyip Murtoa, as they have been so far this year.
