Sidney Nolan's Lagoon, Wimmera 1943, was painted with Ripolin enamel on cardboard during the artist's time as a World War II storeman. Now part of the National Gallery of Victoria collection in Melbourne, it's on loan to the Art Gallery of NSW for the duration of this summer's Nolan: Origins exhibition.
