Ms Cupper spent her first years on a solider settlement block near Mildura and later studied history at Monash University.

She then became a history and geography teacher in Horsham and Hopetoun.

Herself and her husband Phil Taylor from Hopetoun lived and worked in London from 1979 where they spent many holiday breaks cycling around the first World War's former Western Front in Belgium and France.

In 1980 they visited Gallipoli and then decided to produce a Gallipoli guidebook which took them eight years to put together.

Although it is somewhat outdated now, it remains to be a key guide.

On top of these experiences, Ms Cupper has led tours to former battlefields in France, Belgium and Turkey and has continued to research, write and speak about Australia's World War 1 experience.

Ms Cupper was awarded an Order of Australia Medal (OAM) in 2021 on the Queen's Birthday Honours List for her services to education and the preservation of Australia's military history.

Anzac Day is a national day to commemorate the Australian and New Zealand soliders who served in Gallipoli for World War 1.

In Sheep Hills, the march will commence at 6.45am followed by a wreath-laying at the Cenotaph and service in Sheep Hills Hall.

Brim will hold a 9am service at the Brim Memorial Hall, before attendees move to Warracknabeal for the march to Anzac Park at 10.30am for a wreath-laying ceremony and service.
