Rainbow P-12 College has welcomed six new prep students for the 2025 school year and all are off to a great start.
Nixon, Nylah, Lucas, Archie, James and Hunter have answered some fun questions for the Rainbow-Jeparit Argus.
If you could be a teacher for a day, what would you do?
Nixon said he would teach lots of maths and Nylah said she would “tell everyone to sit down in the 'chillax' cave and be very nice to all the kids, let them go to the toilet all the time and do what they wanted to do".
Lucas would be a very relaxed teacher and would “just let the kids run around outside, play, and learn math".
Archie said he would “do nothing, play with some toys and real lizards” and James said he would “let the kids play, let them go for a run and let them draw on the white board”.
If Hunter was the classroom teacher, he would let everyone hang out in the playground all
day.
If you could be anything in the world, what would it be?
Math enthusiast Nixon said he’d be “a mather and do maths”.
If Nylah could be anything in the world, she would be a supergirl and have any kind of ability, but she really wants to be able to fly.
Lucas said he would like to be a policeman or a "mouse because you can run" or a fireman to be able to "water stuff", while Archie said he would be a "spider head costume that makes noises".
If James could be anything in the world he would be “like a massive lizard Godzilla because Godzilla is awesome” and Hunter said he would be an astronaut to fly into space and visit all of the planets.
If you could eat one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Nixon said specifically Macca's cheeseburgers while Archie said hamburgers.
Nylah said her choice would be spaghetti with onion and veggies and James said he thought it would be pepperoni pizza.
Watermelon would be the food that Hunter would choose to eat for the rest of his life.
Interestingly, Lucas was thinking ahead and said “a zucchini, because you can grow more zucchinis with the seeds”.
What is your favourite thing to do at school?
Lucas favourite thing to do at school is eat and, of course, Nixon said his was learning maths.
Nylah's favourite thing is playing inside and also in the playground, and Archie said “eating chips, playing in the playground, spending time with my aide Kat and reading books".
James's favourite thing to do is “playing in the playground, doing the run because it’s really cool and when people say things to me like 'Oh no, a dinosaur is chasing us'”.
Principal Colleen Petschel said students and staff had experienced a very successful transition.
Ms Petschel said current building works were progressing well and excitement and anticipation were growing as the finishing date for stage A loomed closer.
