The club fundraiser saw 45 SMT women supporters gather for a high tea on Saturday, May 25, at the Hopetoun Recreation Reserve’s club rooms.

Most attendees travelled from Rainbow, Jeparit, Warracknabeal, and Beulah.

Netballers played a key role in the fundraising efforts, selling raffle tickets ahead of and during the event, including 20 tickets at the gate.

While talking to The Argus, event organiser Bridget Williams highlighted the strong turnout and the community’s generous support.

“We had a fantastic outcome,” she said.

“The community and SMT members supported the day extremely well.

“It’s a tribute to support the people who are ongoing cancer patients and the ones recently diagnosed.”

Organisers thanked enthusiastic participants in the club’s ongoing efforts to support breast cancer awareness and care.

“Thanks to the broader community for supporting the cause and everyone who donated the food on the day,“ Ms Williams said.
