"The Knit and Natter Social Group meet at the RSL fortnightly, and as well as enjoying friendship and fun, they also create amazing creations that are all donated to the community," said RSL Events Co-ordinator Amy Steenhuis.

"Since starting in 2014, this dedicated group of volunteers has been knitting with heart and purpose, and in 2025 alone, they've created 152 rugs, 120 beanies and 16 children's clothing items.

"These have been lovingly donated to the Christian Emergency Food Bank, Uniting Church, and Grampians Community Health to be given to those in need to stay warm and cared for during winter."

Ms Steenhuis said the group is led by Mary Birch, who is a proud former member of the Horsham RSL Ladies Auxiliary, and her commitment to community spirit continues to inspire all around her.

"From all of us here at Horsham RSL — thank you for all that you do.

"Your kindness, creativity and dedication make a real difference," she said.
