Strong winds test goal kickers' resolve
Paul Summers was one of three footballers to lead all goal kickers across the Wimmera Football Netball League in round 13.

While many were tested in the blustery conditions, Summers, team mate Cody Driscoll and Nhill under 14s forward Nick Verrall all kicked six majors on July 19.
Summers continues to lead the WFNL senior football goal kicking tally with 61, 10 ahead of Ararat’s Jack Ganley, who booted five against the Warrack Eagles.
Alistair Byrne has taken the lead of the WFNL reserve grade goal kicking ladder following a good outing against Stawell in round 13.
The Saints forward kicked four against the Warriors in his side’s 13.9 (87) to 8.1 (49) home win, bringing his total to 40 goals for the season.
Ararat’s Ryan Bates and Corey Taylor did not play in round 13 and remain on 37 and 33 goals, respectively.
The Rats maintained their undefeated season with a 5.6 (36) to 5.2 (32) win against the Eagles.
Nhill enjoyed a strong win against Dimboola, kicking 10.12 (72) to 2.5 (17), while Minyip Murtoa kept Southern Mallee Thunder goalless in their 12.6 (78) to 0.3 (3) victory.
Lewis Hofmaier’s five majors saw him move to third on the under 17s goal kicking ladder.
The Horsham Saints’ undefeated season continued with a 11.8 (74) to 1.3 (9) against the Warriors, with Hofmaier’s team mate Chase Kannar kicking three goals.
Kannar has 24 goals for the season, one ahead of Hofmaier.
His competition Sam Preston of Ararat booted two majors in his side’s 10.12 (72) to 2.5 (17) defeat of Warrack Eagles to bring his total to 28.
Meanwhile, Nhill defeated Dimboola 12.11 (83) to 4.4 (28) and the Thunder trounced the Burras 15.10 (100) to 4.4 (28).
In the under 14s, Nick Verrall kicked the biggest bag of the weekend, with his six.
