Treloar's seven leads Demons to another massive win

Elle Treloar kicked seven goals to help guide the Horsham Demons Women's Football Team to a 127-point win over Warrnambool at Reid Oval in Warrnambool in round six of the Western Victoria Female Football League.

The Demons came out of the blocks fast, kicking four goals to lead by 25 points at quarter time. They kicked another six in the second term to lead by 65 at halftime.

A four-goal third quarter saw them extend the lead to 92 points at three-quarter time and a third consecutive shutout was on the cards, with Warrnambool failing to hit the scoreboard.

In the final term, Jess Mulcahy kicked a goal for Warrnambool as the Demons piled on another six goals to win 20.13.133 to 1.0.6.

Shannon Cross kicked four goals for the Demons with Madeleine Huggins kicking three in a great performance.

Vanilla Ika continues her terrific form kicking two goals whilst Tahlia Barnett, Alana Bascombe, Dellie Brown and Holly Smith all hit the scoreboard with one goal apiece.

Shannon Cross was named best on the ground with Holly Nuske also sensational through the midfield with Crystal Summers another one of their best players.

For Warrnambool, Isabelle Moorhead was their best player with Lily Jenkins and LaToya Folima.

The win moves the Demons to third place, two games clear of Tyrendarra and one game behind Hamilton.

Treloar's seven goals now take her to the lead in the league goal kicking, bringing her tally to 16, three ahead of South Warrnambool's Soraya Kearney-Knox.

Earlier in the day, the under-18s suffered a 47-point loss to top-of-the-ladder Terang Mortlake.

Violet McGennisken, Lara Purchase and Maggie Fisher all kicked goals for the Demons, as Terang Mortlake won 8.20.68 to 3.3.21.

Lara Purchase, Violet McGennisken, Poppy Peters, Charmaine Lockwood, Abby Wiedermann and Carly Hartnett were named the best players for the Demons.

In round seven, the under-18s have a bye whilst the seniors host Hamilton at Horsham City Oval.
