Twilight market was a hit
The Hopetoun District Neighbourhood House (HDNH) Twilight Market attracted a strong crowd on December 6, with more than 100 people attending from surrounding towns, alongside visiting family members and tourists staying at the lake.

Sixteen stalls set up across the HDNH forecourt, offering a mix of local goods, food and Christmas-themed treats, while Hopetoun P-12 students ran the popular BBQ out the front and Hopetoun Kindergarten raised funds through the sale of slices and cakes.
Market organiser and HDNH manager, Erin Paech, said the decision to move the event from its usual November date made a big difference to the atmosphere.
“This is our annual market that we usually have in November, but we pushed it back to be a Christmas-themed one,” she said.
Children were kept entertained with an HDNH colouring competition and face painting proved to be one of the highlights of the evening.
“We had the HDNH colouring competition papers for the kids to colour in,” she said.
“Sam from Rainbow doing face painting, which is the highlight for the kids.”
The market raffle was split into four prizes, including a handmade coffee table donated by the Hopetoun Men’s Shed and a range of donated items from stallholders.
Winners Sandra, Jodyn, Donna and Ian have all been notified and collected their prizes.
Ms Paech thanked the community for supporting the event and helping make it a success.
The next HDNH market will be held in the forecourt on Sunday, March 1, 2026, from 9am to 1pm, to coincide with the Hopetoun Reunion.
