Wimmera Leadership Changemakers Program returns in 2025
Wimmera Southern Mallee Development is set to deliver an exciting year of leadership development, offering valuable opportunities for individuals across the region.

The highly regarded Wimmera Leadership Changemakers Program, known for its unique approach to cultivating strong, community-focused leaders, returns this June.
Facilitated by Leading Teams, the 10-month program will feature a dynamic mix of immersive workshops, social awareness training, leadership development activities, and a group retreat. Participants are required to attend one-day sessions every few weeks.
With 20 places available, businesses can invest in their future by sponsoring a team member's participation. Additionally, several scholarships will be available to support accessibility for aspiring leaders.
"The Changemakers Program is designed for established and aspiring leaders - whether they own or manage a business or lead a team in the workplace or community," WSMD Program Manager Binesh Tholath said.
WSMD is also collaborating with the Australian Rural Leadership Foundation (ARLF) to deliver a Community Leadership Program at Longerenong College this May and June.
This grass-roots program, designed to foster collaboration, build resilience, and develop innovative problem-solving techniques, is ideal for individuals passionate about making a difference in their communities.
It fosters collaboration, builds resilience, and develops innovative problem-solving techniques, creating a strong sense of community and connection while promoting holistic well-being.
"This year's ARLF program is made possible thanks to a grant from the Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal, which also funded a similar two-day program in Natimuk last November," Mr Tholath said.
"For this round, we have up to 24 places, and the program will run over two and a half days each month, including overnight stays."
