Wimmera's women in winning form

District jockeys Christine Puls (Horsham) and Jade Smith (Stawell) scored impressive wins at Donald last weekend.
Racing on Saturday on a track rated a 'soft 5', the two women flew the Wimmera flag proudly in the latter half of the program.
Smith scored the duo's first victory of the day, guiding Ballon D'or home for trainer Charles Cassar in race 6.
The teenage apprentice made her professional debut only three months ago, winning the Sheep Hills Cup on a horse trained by her father, Dane, in her very first competitive ride.
Later on Saturday afternoon, aboard Turn Up The Night, trained by Brian and Ashley McKnight, Puls led the field across the line in race 8 to round out a day on which she had earlier placed fifth, seventh and ninth.
