Over 60 students were recognised, with more than 250 gathered for the Warracknabeal Secondary College’s presentation night, to celebrate student success.

Awards were presented in 23 categories, highlighting the achievements, leadership, and growth of the students throughout the 2024 academic year.

The evening was hosted by assistant principal Melissa Thompson, with principal Casey Phelan and school council president Sarah-Jayne Holland presenting the awards at the Education Precinct gymnasium.

Yarriambiack Shire Council mayor Kylie Zanker attended the presentation night, with the College’s 2023 Dux, Ellen Bish, returned to share her insights into her transition to tertiary study.

Warracknabeal Secondary College assistant principal Melissa Thompson commended the attendees for their efforts.

"Warracknabeal Secondary College sincerely appreciates the efforts of all students, families and friends who attended the presentation of awards," she said.

"We hope that all associated with the College have a safe and joyful festive season. We look forward to working with you all again in 2025 and continuing the tradition of celebrating the success of fabulous students who continue to achieve their personal best."

The WSC thanked all the community organisation who support the school and students, especially the Warracknabeal Rotary Club who support students through sholarships, as well as the Lions Club of Warracknabel, and APEX for their continued support.

The WSC also thanked the Willenabrina CWA, Member for Mallee Anne Webster, ADF and the Wimmera and Southern Mallee Local Learning Employment Network for the awards they provide in recognising the students.
